Pam
Thompson consultant to Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP This was an "encore" performance of the presentation Pam gave at the September 2000 meeting. At the original meeting, the presentation had so much information that it continued the following month. Pam cut the number of PowerPoint slides in half and still ran out of time! Many good suggestions were made by the participants. Cynthia Proctor, for example, recommended giving assessment quizzes before and after classes. Do so before a class helps to identify any "Kindergartners in College" as well as cut down on "Resisters" and "Know-It-All's" as you show them that they really need the class after all. At Cynthia's firm, assessment tests are also given 30, 60 and sometimes 90 days after the original training to help identify misunderstood topics.
