Summary: Eddie demonstrated how to use technical manuals to create effective User/Training Guides for staff. His PowerPoint presentation included the use of macros; booklists and plenty of web links.

At the bottom of this page is a link to Eddie's zip file that contains the following:

1.   His PowerPoint presentation
2.   The URLs handout -- Even people who got a hard copy will probably want this, because you can just click on the links and don't have to type addresses.
3.   The Bibliography handout
4.   An Excel spreadsheet that shows how to set up an inventory of screen shots and some naming conventions (He says he didn't have time to cover this)
5.   A Change Log template for making changes to manuals
6.   A Usability Form, a template he uses to report problems to developers

Both #5 and #6 are protected Word forms. The "Prepare for Printing" macro gets rid of empty table rows and 'freezes' all the fields.

Let him know any macros you are interested in and he will send the code inside a template with instructions on how to use it.
