iRedline Notes
-
Works with
only Word 2002 and above.
-
Does not work
with WordPerfect and there are no plans to do so.
-
Works with an
iRedline toolbar in Word (very much like the revisions toolbar).
-
You can tag
text for the comparison to ignore.
-
You can
create a summary report of what was changed in revised document.
-
Works with
DMS products.
-
Has 3 kinds
of "schemes" available:
1) personal,
2) machine specific, and
3) Global (firm) You can have as many of each scheme as you need.
-
You can save
the comparison results as a new document, a new version, an email
attachment, or an embedded object in the revised document.
-
You can mark
each revision with numbers. This helps when referring to revisions later
(i.e., see revision #25 on page ??).
-
You can add
watermarks to the results document (i.e., a watermark that says
REDLINE).
-
You can add
line numbers to the margins of the results document.
-
You can ask
to ignore items like headings, tables, footers, etc. before running the
comparison.
-
You can
accept or reject the changes in the results document using the iRedline
toolbar. Very similar to the accept and reject option already in Word.
However, you must use the iRedline toolbar to do this.
-
iRedline uses
many of Word's native dialog boxes which makes it easier to learn
because many things are already familiar.
-
You can buy
only what licenses you need (concurrent network licenses). Minimum of 10
license if you have more than 10 people in your office.
Program launches on November 3, 2003.
