Jennifer
Holehouse and Shelton Bellamy from Sughrue Mion attended the Corporate
Education Conference called Learning 2007 and they shared
what they've learned. This is the conference organized by Elliott Masie and he's not just all about e-Learning these days - finally!! It was a very diverse conference and Jen and Shelton took away many great ideas that they have already started to implement in our training program. The discussion included: Creating a Learning Council: Getting everybody that has anything to do with the education process at your Firm on the same page! Redesigning Onboarding: How Jen and Shelton are redesigning the new employee hire training program. They are using a sports theme to create "Learning Tracks" for each specific job. This allows them to measure what each employee SHOULD know for each specific job and then measure what each employee that completes the Learning Track DOES know and how to tie it all into the review process. Cool methods in delivering training - Reorganizing and strengthening what you already have. - Podcasting - Wiki's (Hawaiian term for rapid or quick) - Educational Manga (Japanese word for comics) Download their handouts:
